2010 Student Business Day to be held in Baku

On May 26th, 80 participants of the JA Student Companies program, the youth entrepreneurship initiative, will come together in Baku for the 2010 Student Business Day.
The activity is conducted within the School Economics Education Program (SEE), supported by the coalition of companies – Statoil Absheron, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), and Chevron Khazar Ltd. as main donors, and the Ministry of Youth and Sports, American Chamber of Commerce, Baker & McKenzie, and Bakcell as associate partners, and Hewlett-Packard and Exxon Azerbaijan Limited as event partners.
 
JA Student Companies program started in November 2009 and engaged 80 students from 15 schools of Baku, Ismayilli and Mingechevir. The project taught the high school students entrepreneurship and business plan development with the assistance of teachers and volunteers from the business community.

During the event on May 26, the student teams will present their businesses and products to the panel of judges, who will determine the program winners according to five nominations. The guest speakers at the event will be representing the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Youth and Sports, and Statoil Absheron. All media agencies are invited to attend the event that will be held with participation of representatives from business and academic community.

The event will end with an awards ceremony, during which the winning teams and the business volunteers will receive appreciation certificates and awards.
