UN Environment Program Regional Director for Europe to visit Baku

UNEP has declared Genoa (Italy), Geneva (Switzerland) and Baku (Azerbaijan) the main cities of World Environment Day 2010 celebrations in Europe on June 5.

The World Environment Day is marked with various street events, march of bicyclists, “green concerts”, poster and composition contests in the schools, tree-planting, renovation work, waste utilization and other events every year.

WED 2009 was celebrated under motto “Your Planet Need You” in Mexico City, but this year it will be marked under motto “Many Species One Planet One Future”, which considers educational and informational work in the field of protection of environment and ecological balance.
