Confederation: Azerbaijan has flood-affected grain areas

Deficit of dairy and animal products is not expected in Azerbaijani due to disaster in the Aran (central) part of the country, head of the Azerbaijani National Confederation of Entrepreneurs Mammad Musayev said.

"Flood-affected areas were the main centers of animal husbandry", Musayev said.

He said that grain areas are mostly affected as a result of the disaster. The confederation is studying the damage caused by flooding in the Aran zone.

"Estimates are underway. We do not know the final figures," Musayev said.

Floods in 40 Azerbaijani regions have been recently registered. About 20,000 houses were flooded, more than 300 destroyed, 2,000 were in emergency condition, 50,000 hectares of cultivated land were under water as a result of the disaster.
