The first Turkish-Azerbaijani conference of oncologists has today been launched in Baku.

The conference, under the theme “Modern diagnostics and treatment of cancerous growth”, was opened by chief doctor of Azerbaijan National Oncology Center Idrak Kazimov.
He highlighted activities of the center, and told of care and attention by the Azerbaijani state to healthcare. The chief doctor spoke about “close” relationship between Azerbaijani and Turkish medical specialists.
He praised Turkish doctors' assistance to Azerbaijani counterparts in developing human resources. Chairman of Turkish Hematology Society Suleyman Dincer highlighted the importance of the conference. He hailed cooperation between Azerbaijani and Turkish physicians. Dincer also talked about new methods to fight oncological diseases.
President of Turkish Higher Education Council Yusuf Ziya Ozcan described the conference as “continuation of successful cooperation between the two fraternal nations”. Ozcan praised achievements of Azerbaijan in all fields, including the healthcare.
