Khojali genocide anniversary to be marked in Washington and New York

Azerbaijanis and representatives of Turkish Diaspora wil participate in the demonstrations, APA's US bureau reports.

President of the Azerbaijan Society of America (ASA) Tomris Azeri said that ASA has been the member of Federation of Turkish American Associations (FTAA) and Assembly of Turkish American Association (ATAA) for 40 years. Therefore both organizations help the society to organize events on Khojali genocide.

Tomris Azeri said the US police will ensure the security of the protest action participants.

Samir Lutfeliyev, the President of North Azerbaijan Cultural Center in California said about 1,000 members of the society will send letters about Khojali genocide to Barbara Boxer and Dianne Feinstein Senators from California, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger and Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice.
