Sciences Academy's full and associate members to be elected

The Academy presidium told the APA 46 candidates run for 13 seats of full members and 208 for 29 associate members. The elections will be held on 26 April. The president of ANAS will be elected two days before-on 24 April. The acting president Mahmud Karimov is the only candidate. The rest candidates, the form of the elections will be defined during the voting.

Head of Executive Office of Azerbaijani President Ramiz Mehdiyev, Baku State University (BSU) president Abel Maharramov, vice-president of State Oil Company Khoshbakht Yusifzadeh, chief of Land and Cartography Committee Garib Mammadov, Linguistics Institute director Agamusa Akhundov and BSU theology faculty dean Vasim Mammadaliyev are among the candidates running for full membership.

Parliamentarians Jamil Hasanli, Nizami Khudiyev and Yagub Mammadov, Human Rights Institute director Rovshan Mustafayev, Baku Slavic University president Kamal Abdullayev, specialist in drama study Ilham Rahimli are among the candidates for associate membership of the Academy.
