EU offers Azerbaijan to cut import tax to 15%

The European Union offered Azerbaijan to cut import duty on all types of goods to 15% within the scope of WTO accession.

Deputy Foreign Minister Mahmud Mammadguliyev said Azerbaijan and the EU had efficient negotiations in Brussels last week.

"We expressed what our stance is, we spoke of our proposals on goods and services. The EU wants us to remove limitations. We try to have fallback position in finance, banking, energy, telecommunications fields which interest the government. I believe that the EU is ready to have discussion with us," he noted.
