Oil extraction in Azerbaijan in Jan-Apr increased 13.7m of tones

Oil extraction in Azerbaijan in January - April of 2007 amounted 13 million 727.2 thousand of tones which is by 47,1% more comparing to the same period of 2006.

Growth was provided because of Azerbaijani International Operation Company (the operator on oil fields Azeri - Charyg - Gyuneshli development) which has extracted 10,8 million of tones of oil (by 70% more comparing to January - April of 2006). The rest of oil amount was extracted by Azerbaijan State Oil Company.

Thus, according to Statistics Committee, by May 1, 2007, the volume of stored oil amounted 191,3 thousand of tones.

Gas extraction in Azerbaijan during the same period amounted 2 billion 878,4 million of cubic meters (by 28,4% more then in January - April of 2006). Mainly the growth connected with oil-well gas extraction increase by Azerbaijani International Operation Company, which extracted 1 billion 253,6 million of cubic meters which is by 32,6% more then in the same period of last year and with the beginning of Shakh-Deniz gas field extraction. The rest of gas amount was extracted from the gas fields developed by Azerbaijan State Oil Company. Kazakhstan Today
