"The order signed by the state head for perfection of the elections practice is directed for providing the executive mechanisms in the regions correctly. This order will create an opportunity for holding elections under the law-governed conditions".
This was informed to the journalists by the vice-speaker of the Milli Majlis (Azeri Parliament) Ziyafat Asgarov.
According to his words, the main purpose is to create equal conditions for the forces participating in elections and to eliminate the discrimination. Z.Asgarov informed that the discussions held with the Venetian Committee about the changes to the Elections Code would have been finished recently and also stated that it was not excluded to discuss the intended changes in the spring session of the parliament: "After the next week, the results of the discussions will be clear. After this, the changes and additions proposed to the Election Code might be discussed in the spring session of the parliament. If we are not able to do it until the spring session over, then we can prolong the period of the session according to the legislation practice. We are ready to do anything what is needed".
