Meeting with a group of human right protectors held in President’s Office

They met with  Fuad Alasgarov- chief of department work  on right protectors of President’s Office, Samad Seyidov- chairman of delegation  in Parliamentary Assembly of Council of Europe  on Azerbaijan (PACE) , member of delegation- Gultakin  Hajiyeva, Ali Huseynov, section chiefs of PA Kamala Ismayilova, Chingiz Asgarov, associate of  PA Otari Gvaladze,  and  associate of  Foreign Affairs Ministry and Govhar Alasgarova member of delegation of Azerbaijan in European Court, Foreign Affairs Ministry Press and  Information Office chief  Tahir Taghizadeh.

APA has been informed about by the right protector Chingiz Ganizadeh. He stated that, in the meeting held in the President’s Office law protectors Saida Gojamanli, Novella Jafaroglu, Saadat  Bananyarli, Sahib  Mammadov, Eldar Zeynalov, Murad Sadeddinov and he have taken part. In the meeting the problem of political prisoner, list of political prisoners presented to Council of Europe have been discussed.

The sides held an exchange of views on the questions: “You know that two lists were sent to Council of Europe from Azerbaijan. The lists were discussed during the talk. Primary specifying related to the documents was held and that means that a common articulation was achieved. It was revealed that some of the persons whose names had been included in the list, released 3-4 years before, and some of them had not been arrested at all. But we could not finish the discussions yesterday.

That is why we will meet with the composition and hold last specifying and concretizing on the lists in Milli Majlis again”. The law protector stressed that the meeting had been efficient. A group consisting of the persons participated in the meeting was formed at the end. The group will investigate the political prisoners’ question together after this.
