04 February 2006 [16:07] - TODAY.AZ
"Regrettably, sometimes the opposition parties couldn’t get out from the regular tricks of the government," First deputy chairman of Azerbaijan Democratic Party (ADP) Sardar Jalaloglu told in the press conference today while commenting on the opinion of Musavat Party with regard to participating in the rerun elections.

According to him, if the opposition parties collectively refuse participating in re-elections and parliamentary sittings, the authorities will have to meet their needs.

"I think, those who heartily want democracy to be established in Azerbaijan avoid this step. The position shouldn’t participate in the re-elections and parliamentary sittings at present. Now the people need "Azadliq" bloc and we should do our best to preserve this alliance as a power center. Let those who want to quit the bloc do this."

S.Jalaloglu said that, he'll do his best to prevent Musavat's going to the re-elections and parliamentary sittings. According to him, the position of Musavat has serious impact on the current political processes. Warning that, the opposition will face serious problems if the parliamentarians from Musavat attend the parliamentary sittings, S.Jalaloglu called on his allies to avoid taking this step: "Russian delegation to Council of Europe took strong measures to pose obstacles to the democratic processes in Azerbaijan. I think, participation in the rerun of parliamentary elections and parliamentary sittings means assisting Russia and other forces which are against Azerbaijan."

S.Jalaloglu also added that, if Musavat determines to take such step he will not make concessions despite of his friends and prison mates in Musavat: "I cannot even forgive my brother when it comes to national interests."

S.Jalaloglu also commented the articles of Rasul Guliyev. He said he doesn't agree to some severe statements made by Rasul Guliyev while he is away from Azerbaijan.
