Nushiravan Maharrmali: "ANS TV and ANS ChM radio to resume broadcasting at 12.00, Dec.12"

He said that closure of ANS raised discussion and concern in the public, APA reports.

"Azerbaijani intelligentsia, sports figures, leading media outlets, ombudswoman appealed to the President on resumption of this broadcaster. ANS founders and staff also appealed to us. We took into account all the appeals and passed a decision allowing ANS to resume broadcasting. The decision was made at today’s meeting attended by ANS representatives Mirshahin Agayev and Seyfulla Mustafayev," he said.

Maharramli said that the final decision will be passed after the tender for frequency of ANS is over.

"We allow ANS to broadcast through its previous frequency by the release of the tender results. It can resume broadcasting at 12.00, December 12, but it should take part in the tender for frequency. If not, the Council will pass a final decision on ANS. The bid opening will take place on February 5," he said.
