Kamil Sedreddinov: "I begin hunger strike because of pressures on my family"

26 members of the gang stand trial presided by judge Ali Seyfaliyev.

Former chief of IM Crime Investigation Department Kamil Sedreddinov refused to testify, APA reports.

"The pressures on me continue from 2004 up to now. I have struggled against those who attempted to our statehood. Public prosecutor’s demand to take back my reward given for preventing the conspiracy against Heydar Aliyev is also should be considered as pressure on me. That is why I refuse to say any word. These are the pressures on me and on my family. That is why I began hunger strike from yesterday. If the court does not want to take the responsibility on itself, then I want my detention ward to be changed. I ask my lawyer Ogtay Gerekmezli to raise the issue about the pressures on my family in front of the relevant bodies," he said.

Then defendants Elshen Mirzeyev, Nishad Ismayilov, Fariz Hamidov gave their last statements, and asked the court to pass just decision. Defendant Edalet Asadullayev talked about the pressures made on him during his last statement.

He said that he gave testimony to the investigation under the pressure.

"I was arrested without proving my crimes. I believe that, the court will not use my testimonies given after beating and will pass just decision about me. I appealed to Ombudsman, Prosecutor General and NSM, but nobody gave reaction to my appeals. To be indifferent to one's fortune is crime. I declare that, I am not a criminal, and did not take part in any criminal case," he said.
