Test Labs to be set up to check quality of foodstuffs

"Test laboratories will be set up to examine the quality of foodstuffs," Director of the State Agency for Standardization, Metrology and Patents, Ramiz Hasanov said.

He says the labs will enable to determine the quality of imports, adding that a new law has been adopted on compulsory certification of products.

"International Organizations want us to issue quality certificate to products. This mechanism doesn't exist in Europe and certificates are not required from these countries. That is, producer itself issues quality certificate in Europe. We want to have this mechanism," he underscored, APA reports.
