He told that visit is aimed at determining the directions of the cooperation with Azerbaijan, APA reports.
"Azerbaijani side shows great will to cooperation. Russia's Science and Education Minister Fursenko promised to help. Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to Russia also displays his efforts in this sphere," the Ambassador said.
Vasili Istratov said that the exact date of the visit is not know yet; noted establishment of Baku branch of the university is the point of the discussion. The Ambassador noted Russian Science and Education Minister Andrey Fursenko's visit to Azerbaijan was successfully and foundation of the Baku branch was discussed during the meetings.
"The position of both sides is to establish the branch only to give normal education to the students," he said.
The ambassador said that sending students to Russia to continue their education, exchange of teachers, and Azerbaijan's participation at Russia's grant programmes are in the focus.
The diplomat noted Russia side has sent 300 kinds of books, and these books will be presented to education Ministry soon.
