Chief of Gobustan jail: Prisoners continue hunger strike

Chief of Gobustan jail Alizade Huseynov told the APA that the protesters have no health problems. The chief said the prisoners have not stopped hunger strike.

"Prisoners have the right to go on hunger strike. They express their protests and demands in this way. But fulfilling their demands is not in my competence, or in the competence of Justice Ministry. I only inform the related bodies of their demands," he said.

The lifers started hunger strike on March 27 and demanded commuting their life sentence to 15-year imprisonment.
