Safar Abiyev receives US Brigadier General Robert Ireton

Azerbaijani Defense Minister, Colonel General Safar Abiyev received the delegation led by Brigadier General Robert D. Ireton, the chief of staff of the Oklahoma Air National Guard.

Touching on the current situation of US-Azerbaijan relations Safar Abiyev said official Baku supports economic, political and military cooperation with US, APA reports.

"We keep bilateral relations and cooperate within "Partnership for Peace" (PFP) of NATO. But Section 907 created serious obstacles for intensive military cooperation."

Robert Ireton said cooperation with Azerbaijan is of great importance for Azerbaijan. He said bilateral relations will be further developed.
