Speaking to oikotimes.com today Arzu Abdullayev, the 'chief of TV complex' in Baku, advised "Our documents for becoming an active member are now in the Eurovision legal department, and after the 15th of June we'll be advised 'yes or no' from the EBU."
Should Azerbaijan take part in the Eurovision Song Contest they will become the 50th country to actually take part in the contest - not including Lebannon or Tunisia as, althoguh they selected a song/were drawn into the running order, they never actually had a participant on the stage.
