109 removed from list of missing persons

Names of 109 men recorded as missing by Azerbaijan’s State Commission on Prisoners of War, Hostages and Missing Persons within five months of 2007 were removed from the list, the State Commission told.

The number of missing persons and prisoners of war is 4,466. 3,589 of them are servicemen, 868 civilians. 51 of the civilians are children (17 girls), 382 are old ones (174 women).

Reports about 783 missing and prisoners of war were received and witnesses gave testimonies. 1,391 were released from captivity, APA reports.

343 of them are women, 1,047 are men, 168 are children (65 girls) and 289 are old (112 old women). According to the materials received by the commission, 451 were killed or died because of some reasons. 86 of them are women, 365 are men. Names of 124 are known, 67 are unknown.
