Combat with illegal poultry hunting continues in Azerbaijan's south

The Department of Ecology and Natural Resources on the southern region held regular raids on combat with illegal poultry hunting to prevent spread of avian flu, Day.Az reports.

During the raid in Gumbashi village of Lenkoran, the officials of the department revealed people, who sell poultry at Astara-Alyaty highway.

The residents managed to escape.

44 poultry heads were confiscated and terminated, and the territory was disinfected.

The department officials confiscated three hunting rifles from people, who were dealing with illegal hunting, in Jalilabad and Bilesuvar regions.

The rifles were passed to the law-enforcement bodies and the residents will have to pay a fine from AZN 1,100 up to AZN 2,200.
