Explosion in Istanbul kills two Azerbaijanis - UPDATED

AzerTAc reports that the Istanbul city administration specified 18 out of 21 people killed by an explosion in Zeytinburnu district.

As is reported one of them is Nakhchivan resident Novruz Mamedov. The identity of another Azerbaijani who died in the result of the incident has also been defined. This is 24 year old resident of Nakhchivan Shakhriyar Gajiyev.

At the moment of explosion he was passing by the building.

Azerbaijan's consul general in Istanbul Sayad Salakhli confirmed APA's information about the death of Azerbaijan citizen Novruz Mamedov.

According to him, N.Mamedov, born in 1960, was a citizen of Nakhchivan. He ran a small business producing spare parts for household technique. Currently, the consulate general prepares documents to deliver his body to Nakhchivan.

Salakhly noted that the diplomatic mission does not have information about the location of Mamedov's relatives in Istanbul.

According to AzerTAj, 22 people died and 117 people were injured in the result of the explosion.

Three people are in a bad state. Azerbaijani citizen Novruz Mamedov is among those who died in the result of the incident.

Istanbul Vali Muammar Guler reported that the names of those who died are being ascertained.

These are, mainly, foreign workers from the textile, leather and other light industry factories and departments, locating in the building.
