Leyla Aliyeva visits Saint-Petersburg

Head of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation`s representative office in Russia Leyla Aliyeva visited Saint Petersburg on Saturday.

She met there with Governor Valentina Matvienko who stressed that Azerbaijan-Russia relations are rapidly developing.

Matvienko stressed the role of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and its representative office in strengthening the bilateral ties between the two countries.

Leyla Aliyeva spoke of the activity of Heydar Aliyev Foundation, and said it maintains close cooperation with Russian regions, including Saint Petersburg.

Leyla Aliyeva also met with Head of the Russian National Library Vladimir Zaytsev.

Zaytsev expressed his gratitude to the Heydar Aliyev Foundation for donating books to the library.

Leyla Aliyeva and Vladimir Zaytsev then signed an agreement between the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and the Russian National Library.

After the signing ceremony, Leyla Aliyeva attended a ceremony to open a stand of Azerbaijani books.

She then gave an interview to journalists.
