The due announcement was made by head of the Georgian Eparchy of the Armenian Apostle Church, bishop Vazgen Mirzakhanyan, commenting on the actions of the Armenian community, Armenian embassy to Tbilisi and eparchy that arrange a demonstration beginning near St.Gevorg's church.
"We march to the embassy of Turkey in Georgia and then to the Armenian cemetery. Tbilisi Armenians have sent a letter to the parliament with a demand to recognize the "genocide" of Armenians more than ones but no response have been received", the Armenian bishop said.
He considers that this is caused by Georgia's economic dependence on Turkey and Azerbaijan. These countries are too important for Georgia as it receives gas and energy sources via these countries... "Therefore, it is a complicated issue. However, I have already told that the press demonstrates more positive attitude towards Armenians and on April 24 almost all newspapers publish articles our our actions. I remember when in 2005 we were posting our placards on the 90th anniversary of "genocide" of Armenians, the police monitored the situation so that nobody could take them away. Anyway, the Armenian community of Georgia hopes for better future. Otherwise, it would be difficult to survive", Vazgen Mirzakhan
