Azerbaijani Ombudsman Elmira Suleymanova has sent an appeal to international organization, regarding the Khojaly massacre, committed by Armenians against the peaceful residents of this region.

The due information was provided by the press service for Ombudsman's office.
Thus the appeal has been sent to the UN Secretary General, UN Senior Commissioner on human rights, OSCE, Council of Europe, International and European Institute of Ombudsmen, Association of Asian Ombudsmen, World Bureau of Peace, World Federation of Peace and Azerbaijan's Embassies to foreign countries, representatives of diplomatic missions in Azerbaijan as well as Ombudsmen and Azerbaijani diaspora groups.
"Appealing with a great hope to the world community, influential international organizations and world countries, I beliebe that Armenia's aggression against Azerbaijan, its policy of terror, mass violation of human rights will be prevented and support will be provided for the peaceful resolution of the conflict, release of occupied lands, return of 100,000 refugess and internally displaced persons to their lands and restoration of their constitutional rights", the appeal says.
According to it, Armenian armed forces with participation of 366th former Soviet infantry regiment committed an unprecedental crime 16 years ago on the night of February 26.
"Children, women, elderly people and disabled were inflicted reprisals and brutally killed. Armenians burnt Khojalu citizens alive, scalped and pulled eyes off the corpses. One more genocide, committed against the Khojaly people by Armenian aggressors-the Khojaly genocide killed 613 people, including 106 women, 63 children and 70 elderly people. 487 people became invalids, 1275 were taken hostages, 150 are missing", the appeal says.
Ombudsman voices hope that influential international organizations will speak for the peaceful and just resolution of the problem and Armenian terrorists, who are guilty of the Khojaly tragedy, will be brought to criminal responsibility and due sanctions will be imposed against the occupational policy of Armenia, accompanies with mass violations of human rights.
