President of Azerbaijan commemorates victims of Khojaly tragedy

According to Novosti-Azerbaijan, the ceremony was attended by officials of the state and country's public representatives. The memory of victims of tragic events of February 25-26, 1992 was honored by a minute of silence.

Hundreds of thousands of Azerbaijani citizens will come to the memorial to commemorate the victims of the Khojaly massacres within a day.

16 years have passed from the moment of massacres, committed by Armenian armed forces  and military men of the 366th motor rifle division of the Soviet Army in the Azerbaijani city of Khojaly, which killed 613 civilians, including 106 women, 62 infants, 70 elderly people.

Over 1,000 people became invalids, 1275 people were taken hostages, the fate of 150 is still unclear.
