Center of Media Rights Protection to publish names of mass medias not concluding labor contracts with their employees

The Center of Media Rights Protection started a monitoring among mass medias for protection of reporters' labor rights.

The due information was provided by center chairman Matanat Muslimqizi, Day.Az reports.

She noted that the decision to hold a monitoring due to numerous violations of labor rights of reporters, lack of labor contracts between reporters and mass media representatives.

He said the monitoring in most mass medias held regardless of their political position.

"Reporters are not able to get money owed to them, due to lack of labor contracts when being dismissed. In fact, they get the job on basis of an oral agreement with their directors. We have revealed through the monitoring that labor contracts are concluded only in few publishing houses", she said.

She said along with monitoring in the newspapers, the center has appealed to all radio  and TV channels, functioning in Azerbaijan, with a request to create conditions for monitoring.

Mislimgyzy announced that an event with participation of reporters to call the mass medias which violate employees' rights and do not concluded labor contracts will be held by results of the monitoring.
