Azerbaijani ombudsman appeals to prosecutor general due to attacks against Azadlyg newspaper correspondent

APA reports with reference to the press service for Ombudsman's office that by instruction of Suleymanova the structure officials visited Halil who is in the medical center.

They also met with his doctor Said Abbasov, chief of department, and reporter's relatives.

Suleymanova aked the head doctor of the center about the state of the correspondent. She instructed the center administration to ensure all necessary medicines and medical aid to the reporter.

The ombudsman also appealed to Prosecutor General Zakir Garalov. According to the appeal, the abuse, pressure and violence against reporters, who fulfill their professional duty is inadmissible.

The ombudsman said this may cause damage to Azerbaijan's international image.

Suleymanova asks to find those who have committed the crime and punish them.
