Imprisoned reporter Eynulla Fatullayev complaints about gall-bladder pains

Members of the Public Committee for control over the Penitentiary system of the Ministry of Justice met with Eynulla Fatullayev, editor-in-chief of the Gundelik Azerbaijan and Realny Azerbaijan newspaper, kept in a lockup of correctional facility No 12.

The due announcement was made by human rights activist Chingiz Ganizade.

He said during the meeting Fatullayev said he considers the transfer to lockup to be illegal.

"He got twi reprimands while being in the lockup. The jail administration intended to prolong the term of detainment in the lockup, but the decision was declined after we interfered", Ganizade said.

The human rights activist noted that Fatullayev has gall bladder pains.

"He will be freed from the lockup on April 20 and sent for medical examination", said Ganizade.

According to him, Fatullayev was put in the lockup due to his complaints regarding the quality of food.
