26 April 2008 [09:22] - TODAY.AZ
President Ilham Aliyev has appealed to Azerbaijan’s Jewish community.
The head of state said the victims of the genocide policy pursued by the fascists against the Jewish people during the World War II were commemorated by all the mankind every year and mentioned that millions of children, women, and old people were brutally killed just because they were Jews.

"In April 1943 Jewish ghetto started fight in Warsaw for their national rights and against fascism and died heroically, this was the moral victory of human dignity over evil and violence", he said.
President Ilham Aliyev said the bloody crime received legal-political assessment in time, ideologists and organizers of the genocide were punished.

"But demonstration of this fascism is turning to bitter reality and trouble millions of people. Unfortunately, Azerbaijan also faced such a tragedy. Our people faced military, political and ideological reaction of Armenian fascism several times, underwent deportation and ethnic cleansing within the past two centuries, especially after the late 80s of the past century. We condemn all sort of racism, national, religious discrimination posing threat to the civilization, international peace and prosperity, call on the world community to demonstrate unique and implacable position on such cases.

Dear compatriots!

On behalf of Azerbaijani people I once more state that I share your sorrow on the national day of mourning. May the souls of all the innocent victims rest in peace."
