Azerbaijani parliament to adopt law "On biometric data"

A law on biometric data will be adopted in Azerbaijan.
According to APA, the said document was today discussed at a joint session of the permanent parliamentary commissions on human rights, legal policy and state construction.

It was noted that the draft law regulates issues of organization of the system of biometric identification, defines spheres of application of biometric technologies.

According to the chairman of the commission for legal policy and state construction Ali Huseynov, the biometric data is personal data, characterizing the physiological features of a person, allowing to identify him unambiguously or comparing with other data (fingerprints, face image, iris, voice fragments and its acoustic parameters, results of DNA analysis, body parameters, shortages, signature, handwriting and others), reflected on material carriers.

The draft has been recommended for consideration in the parliament following the discussions.
