AzTV correspondent involved in blackmailing deputy Ahad Ahmedov - UPDATED

The press service for AzTv told Day.Az correspondent that the regional correspondent of AzTV Rza Panakhov was dismissed for extortion some time ago.

The Azerbaijani Court of Grave Crimes held a preliminary hearing on the case of founder of Azerbaijan Jumhuriyyeti newspaper Nusret Rehimov, editor-in-chief of Muhakime newspaper Shamsi Mirzoyev and AzTV correspondent Rza Panakhov, charged with blackmailing Milli Medjlis deputy Ahad Ahmedov.

The due information was provided by a source from the court.

The court is presided by judge Rauf Aliyev.

The targets in the investigation are also Zahid Muradov and Zabil Muradov.

The aforementioned persons are charged under articles 182.1, 182.2.1, 182.2.4, 177.2.1, 177.2.3, 177.2.4.

The victim is deputy Ahad Ahmedov. The court hearing is scheduled at 10:30 on June 4.

It should be noted that Nusrat Rehimov demanded $3,000 from deputy Ahad Ahmedov. The journalist threatened to make facts, discrediting the deputy and his family, public.

Officials of the head department for combat with organized crime under the Interior Ministry detained Rehimov at the moment of taking $1500 from the deputy.
