Thus, among the journalists, sending an appeal to the European Court, are Rauf Abbasov, Azer Abbasov, Etibar Naghiyev, Elshas Mamedli, Zabil Najirzade, Ganimar Zahid, Shahvalad Namazov and Mehman Aliyev.
The plaintiffs claimed that verdicts of the country's courts regarding non-permission of a picket, violation of journalist's rights, as well as the need to pay compensation are not objective.
It should be noted that the aforementioned journalists tried to hold the action of protest against pressure on media, but police officers of Sabail district applied force against them on June 12 of 2007.
In this connection, the journalists appealed to the Sabail district court, Appellate Court and Supreme Court, which however, declined the appeal of the media representatives.
